Fond of Happy Endings

Call me idealistic, but who doesn't love a happy ending? Average girl gets the dream guy, super hero defeats the super villain, protagonist gets the second chance. No matter how improbable an outcome may be, it really does leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside (And if you're me, your face is tear-stained). Although I am truly quite the realist, and some might even say cynic, fictional happy endings seem to provide me with the glimpse of hope I need to believe that maybe I'm the exception. Isn't that just peachy? How could you possibly disagree?

Examples of some of my favorite happy endings:
  • Seth nabs Summer in The OC. Classic.
  • Mimi lives in Rent, Roger finishes his song, and Mark completes his film.
  • Jim and Pam live happily ever after in The Office.
  • Juno gives her baby to Vanessa and remains in love with Bleeker.
  • Milly ends up with Johnny (the sensitive, sexy musician/single father) in Because I Said So
Okay now I've given you tangible examples. Agree with me yet? I'm going to take that silence as a yes. My work here is done.

And they lived happily ever after, Lauren.
